Christmas with the Lloyd's

Yesterday (Sunday December 23, 2007) was Christmas at the Lloyd's. Everyone's schedules were so crazy that we decided to do our celebrating and gift exchange a couple days early. It was so fun, we had a really nice dinner very festive and delicious. Then we watched a bit of Claymation Christmas - its a classic. Then did gifts, we were even able to have the Arveseth's join in the celebration via web conference. It made it so much nicer to have them there and to be able to see the kids open the gifts we had for them. We are so blessed, with loved ones and fortunate enough to be able to have gifts to give and gifts to receive. What a blessing it is to live in this time of the world, to be able to spend Christmas with family even though they live on the other side of the country.

Here are the pictures from the first of our Christmas celebrations.

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and that you feel the joy of the season and remember what we are really celebrating!

A note to the world.

Today was Mitt Romney's address on his religion, I think he handled it wonderfully. Our country is founded on the freedom of religion and a separation of church and state. For those who are disappointed or upset that he did not explain his religious beliefs, here is what Joseph Smith would tell you and what he told the world in a letter in reply to a news papers inquiries to what the members of the LDS faith believe.
This is it, this is now contained in the scriptures and explains very plainly and openly what our beliefs are.
People who have questions or think we are a bunch of crazies should take the time to really learn about what we believe and how we live. There are no horns, no multiple wives... Yeah there are minivans, and lots of kids and with that lots of strong marriages and happy families. There are standards that we strive to keep which keep us safe and healthy and happy.
THE ARTICLES OF FAITH
OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS

History of the Church, Vol. 4, pp. 535—541

1 We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
2 We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam’s transgression.
3 We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.
4 We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.
5 We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.
6 We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.
7 We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.
8 We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
9 We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.
10 We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.
11 We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.
12 We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.
13 We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

That feeling, before you throw up...

Yeah, I have it...
I just told my employer of 3 years that I will be leaving in about 2 weeks... Probably on the 21st...
I have thought about changing jobs before but it became so real today, yeah I have been going to school for a year to get to this point, but who knew it would happen...

I think I will take the job I have been offered at Smith's Pharmacy, its so close to home and convienent for me, I haven't really looked anywhere else, but for right now at this crazy time of life it will be the smoothest transition for me from one job to another. I might see about getting some hours in a hospital somewhere to see what its like, I am planning on shadowing one of my co-workers from Smith's she works at Jordan Valley Hospital in the IV center so that will give me a different perspective on things.

Hopefully it will all go well and not be to difficult to find a replacement here for me and then to get through the hiring process at Smith's.

Don't get me wrong I am extatic about getting on at the pharmacy full time and am thrilled that they are so excited to have me working there. It will be awesome! Its a bitter sweet excitement though.

I took my test on Friday and Passed! All I have to do now finish my hours, only 76 left to go. I got a 460/500 on the test, the lady who administers the test said it was the highest she'd seen (I don't know how many she's seen but yeah for me!!!)

I am so excited! I just have to find a way to get through my hours so I can get working in the field!
